About the Company:
An established and growing accountancy practice in Liverpool is seeking an experienced Audit Manager to lead audit assignments and manage a diverse portfolio of clients. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to take on a leadership role within a dynamic firm and contribute to its continued success.
The Role:
As an Audit Manager, you will oversee audit engagements from planning to completion, manage audit teams, and build strong relationships with clients. You will also play a key role in mentoring and developing junior staff members and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting and auditing standards.
Key
Responsibilities:
Leading and managing a portfolio of audit clients, ensuring audits are completed in a timely manner and to a high standard.
Planning, executing, and completing audit engagements, ensuring compliance with UK auditing standards.
Reviewing audit files and financial statements prepared by the team, ensuring accuracy and quality.
Managing and mentoring junior audit staff, providing guidance and support for their professional development.
Liaising with clients to understand their needs, address queries, and provide audit-related advice.
Conducting risk assessments and evaluating internal controls, making recommendations for improvement where necessary.
Managing audit budgets and ensuring work is completed within agreed timescales.
Keeping up to date with changes in auditing standards, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.
Assisting with the development of the firm’s audit strategy and contributing to the growth of the audit department.
Supporting business development by identifying opportunities for additional services and strengthening client relationships.
Requirements:
ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with at least 5 years of experience in audit within an accountancy practice.
Strong technical knowledge of UK auditing standards, UK GAAP, and IFRS.
Proven experience in managing audits and leading audit teams.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on client service.
Ability to manage multiple audit assignments and meet deadlines.
Experience in mentoring and developing junior staff.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and strong attention to detail.
Proficiency in audit and accounting software, such as CaseWare, Sage, or similar platforms.
