About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Management Accountant to join our clients team in the Coventry area. This temp-to-perm position offers a path to a permanent role following a successful 12/13-week period. You’ll play a crucial part in supporting the Finance Director and Head of Finance, providing both financial and non-financial insights that inform decision-making for mineral processing contracts, capital projects, and operational initiatives.
Position Type: Temp-to-Perm (initial 12/13-week temporary period, with the potential for direct hire)
Hourly Rate: £17.00 per hour
Key
Responsibilities:
* Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial results, including Monthly Management Accounts for P&L and Balance Sheet, ready for Finance Director review.
* Stock and WIP Management: Maintain stock and WIP ownership and manage balance sheet account reconciliations monthly.
* Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts, supporting cost control through budget vs. actual analysis.
* Process Improvements: Lead process improvements within the finance function, contributing to greater efficiency and effectiveness.
* Project Support: Provide financial support for internal projects (e.g., R&D, investment) and perform monthly project cost centre reviews.
* Audit and Compliance: Contribute to the annual audit process, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.
* Other Duties: Handle VAT returns, allocate cash receipts, process expenses, and respond to ad hoc finance queries as needed.
Must-Have Qualifications:
* Education: Advanced stage study or full qualification in CIMA, ACCA, or ACA.
* Experience: Strong background in a similar role, preferably within the manufacturing or construction sectors.
* Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, Formulas), proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
* Personal Attributes: Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and a high degree of business acumen with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
