Job Summary:
The Finance Section Manager will be responsible for leading the finance department and overseeing the company's financial planning, analysis, and budgeting processes. This role is critical to ensuring financial health, compliance, and supporting strategic goals. The ideal candidate has a solid background in finance management within the manufacturing or automotive industry and is skilled at fostering team growth and driving process improvements.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and reporting activities
  • Analyze financial performance, identifying trends and providing insights to senior management
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards
  • Manage and develop a team of finance professionals
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets
  • Support strategic financial initiatives to enhance company growth and profitabilit
  • Financial Planning & Analysis
    • Develop and oversee financial budgets, forecasts, and plans in line with business objectives.
    • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and business opportunities.
    • Prepare and present financial reports to senior management with insights and recommendations.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting
    • Lead the annual budgeting process and collaborate with departments to set realistic goals.
    • Monitor budget performance and provide analysis to support business decisions.
    • Adjust forecasts as needed based on business trends and market changes.
  • Accounting & Financial Reporting
    • Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
    • Maintain compliance with accounting principles, policies, and applicable regulations.
    • Coordinate audits and ensure accurate documentation for compliance purposes.
  • Cash Flow & Risk Management
    • Manage cash flow, including optimizing working capital and forecasting liquidity needs.
    • Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
    • Ensure strong internal controls and monitor adherence to company financial policies.
  • Team Leadership
    • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance.
    • Promote cross-functional collaboration to ensure financial alignment with operational goals.
    • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and competencies.
  • Financial Systems & Process Improvement
    • Evaluate and implement financial systems to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.
    • Identify areas for process improvement within the finance department and drive change initiatives.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry practices and technology advancements in finance.

Matric

Qualified Chartered Accountant

3 - 5 years CA experience within the automotive or manufacturing industry
