This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of payment regulation and product across the business.

THE ROLE
You will be doing the following daily:
- Serve as the go-to expert on payment regulations and products across the organisation.
- Ensure the business stays compliant with scheme rules and industry standards.
- Lead the monthly payments forum, offering updates on performance, risks, and key initiatives.
- Identify and implement commercial payment strategies to enhance customer experience, boost revenue, and lower costs.
- Manage relationships with payment service providers to secure high-quality service at competitive rates.
- Collaborate with Information Security and external partners to ensure PCI compliance.
- Coordinate with Finance to ensure accurate reconciliation of payments and refunds.
- Minimize customer friction during Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) while maintaining robust protections against financial crime.
- Oversee the payment dispute and complaint resolution processes.
- Ensure payment services run smoothly, promptly addressing issues and analysing root causes to prevent recurrence.
- Supervise and develop the Assistant Payments Manager, providing daily guidance and long-term growth opportunities.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience as a payments manager, payments product owner, or business analyst working within payments for ecommerce.
- Strong understanding of the technical steps involved in processing payments from cards, mobile wallets, BACS, Direct Debits, and Faster Payments.
- Strong understanding of payment regulations: PSD2, PCI, and scheme rules.
- Confident to work with external providers as the business owner of payment solutions.
- Highly analytical.
- Numerate degree from a Russel Group university.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
