Accounts Manager / Senior Manager

Overview:

I am seeking an experienced Accounts Manager / Senior Manager with a strong background in practice to join my client's team. This role is ideal for a proactive and detail-oriented professional who enjoys interacting with a diverse range of businesses, managing multiple projects, and building strong client relationships. A strong awareness of both personal and corporate tax, from a computational and advisory perspective, is essential.

Key

Responsibilities:


  • Manage a diverse portfolio of approximately 100 clients, ensuring compliance for tax and accounting purposes.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for your clients, working closely with a designated Director.
  • Supervise team members and manage workflow across various assignments.
  • Monitor and manage the financial performance of your portfolio, focusing on fee levels, recoveries, WIP, and debtor positions.
  • Collaborate with other departments within the firm to provide a seamless service to clients.
  • Review compliance work, including statutory year-end accounts, VAT returns, management accounts, and personal/company tax returns.
  • Provide advice and assistance to clients on queries and accounting/tax matters.
  • Assist Directors with ad hoc projects as required.
  • Proactively build and maintain a network of professional contacts.


Requirements:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified, with a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience working in an accountancy practice.
  • Strong technical knowledge of both personal and corporate tax from a computational and advisory perspective.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple assignments.
  • Experience in managing client portfolios, including financial performance (fees, WIP, and debtors).
  • Team-oriented with leadership abilities, able to supervise and mentor junior staff.


Key Relationships:

  • Work closely with senior management, including Directors, Associate Directors, and Senior Managers.
  • Manage a client portfolio of approximately 100 clients, consisting of diverse entity types and sizes.
