As the business embarks on a significant phase of growth and innovation, they are seeking a Finance Manager to join their team. This hands-on, pivotal role will serve as the No.2 to the Financial Director, playing a key part in driving the company’s financial strategy and operational excellence. This role also offers a clear pathway for succession to the FD position.

Based at their Sheffield headquarters, you will be joining a dynamic, privately owned company with a turnover of approximately £50m, a very strong balance sheet, and an ambitious vision for growth and future success. As Finance Manager, you will take ownership of the day-to-day financial operations, while also contributing to strategic decisions that will shape the company's next phase of growth. Key
Responsibilities:
- Financial Management: Oversee the production ofmanagement accounts, annual accounts, VAT returns, and ensure all financial reports are timely and accurate.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist the FD with budgeting, financial forecasting, and analysis, ensuring financial objectives align with the company’s strategic goals.
- Compliance & Taxation: Manage month-end and year-end processes, ensuring compliance with VAT, corporation tax, income tax, and capital gains tax regulations.
- Process Innovation: Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and introduce innovative technologies to improve operational efficiency.
- Collaboration: Work closely with senior leadership, providing financial insight and oversight on development projects and commercial strategy.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other key stakeholders.
Background:
- We are looking for a qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA) with:
- A broad technical skill set, including expertise in technical accounting, VAT, corporation tax, management accounts, and hands-on operational experience.
- A background in practice and experience transitioning into industry
- A passion for innovation and an ability to identify opportunities to enhance financial processes and systems.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with senior leaders and help shape the company's financial strategy.
- A proactive, strategic mindset, eager to get involved in both financial and commercial decision-making.
