Introduction
Our client in Epping, Engineering concern, is looking for a Junior Cost Accountant with previous experience in the role to join their finance team.
Duties & Responsibilities
Maintain an integrated costing system / report with specified primary and secondary cost centres
• Review and maintain data accumulation systems and controls needed for the cost accounting system and reporting within an accounting framework on a monthly basis
• Analysis of expenses and ensure allocation to correct primary and secondary cost centres
• Report on periodic variances and their causes, focusing in particular on spending variances
• Provide reports and explanations to line management
• Reviewing overhead costs to ensure correct allocation and reporting
• Produce operational costing calculations - i.e. transport job costing and tender costing
• Produce profitability calculation for manufacturing divisions
• Capital project cost tracking
Desired Experience & Qualification
Qualifying Criteria
• National Diploma in Cost Accounting majoring in Costing
• Previous experience in a Costing environment is essential
• Knowledge and/or experience working on AccPac, TM1 Cognos and Fraxion advantageous
• Advanced computer literacy - MS Office, high proficiency in MS Excel
• Manufacturing and/or Logistic background advantageous
• Emotionally matured and dynamic individual
• Ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Ability to collaborate with a multi-department team
• Must have clear credit and criminal clearance
