| Salary £43,421-£48,474 Per annum | Permanent, Full Time, 37 hours per week | Senior Accountant |

Can you create innovative strategies with the aim of future proofing the Council's financial stability? Join Lancashire County Council's Resilience and Strategy Team where you will ensure that we can continue to make Lancashire the best place to live for years to come.

As the Senior Accountant, you will:
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders to develop innovative strategies to tackle financial challenges and decreasing resources.
  • Scan the horizon and research government projections to understand their impact on the council and make recommendations based on medium to long-term financial forecasts.
  • Network with colleagues in local authorities, locally and nationally, gaining knowledge and insight needed to formulate a robust funding model underpinning our £1.1bn budget and medium term financial strategy
  • Oversee our new graduate scheme, mentoring the next generation of finance professionals
  • Manage a small team of finance professionals, providing guidance and support to deliver high performance.

About you:
  • Qualified Accountant (CCAB or equivalent) and/or substantial experience in a senior finance role.
  • A strategic, solutions-focused approach to local government finance.
  • Resilient with the ability to make difficult decisions when required.
  • Great communications skills with the ability to explain complex financial information.
  • Analytical with ability to work with large data set to make insightful, evidence based recommendations.
