The Role
As a Management Accountant, you'll play a crucial part in the finance team, responsible for preparing monthly management accounts, analyzing financial reports, and offering key insights to drive performance in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts, conducting variance analysis and offering insightful commentary.
- Lead the month-end processes and manage the Fixed Asset Register.
- Take ownership of business unit reporting packs and cash receipt tracking, presenting findings to the operational team.
- Support the audit process by preparing relevant documentation and resolving queries.
- Conduct regular financial reviews, including aged creditor and debtor reports, and work closely with AR and AP teams.
- Cost monitoring and control, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Lead or support various financial projects aimed at improving business processes and implementing standardization.
- Oversee VAT returns, expense claims, and manual payment requests.
- Build strong working relationships with stakeholders, aligning financial objectives with project goals.
What You'll Need
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA, ACA, CIMA).
- Experience in the construction or housebuilding sector is essential
- Strong financial analysis and reporting skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Experience managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
