Management Accountant | Up to £60k | East Kent

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Management Accountant will be responsible forpreparing management accounts having responsibility for the accounting of specific business functions, ensuring that controls, reconciliations, related transactions and HMRC reporting obligations are managed accurately and in a timely manner.

Key

Responsibilities:

  • Month-end process to include reconciliations, journals, and Preparation of Management accounts for allocated businesses.
  • Prepare, analyse and report KPIs for the finance function and wider business.
  • Internal weekly and monthly reporting for specified business areas, providing explanations and analysis to support business needs.
  • Work with business colleagues to accurately record and reconcile allocated processes within the ERP system, using supplementary tools and supplier portals as needed.
  • Maintain and update pricing and calculation Master data tables within ERP system.
  • Takes an active role in audits, crop reconciliation, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Prepare and submitallocated monthly and quarterly VAT returns.
  • Prepare and reconcile energy pairing transactions.
  • Provide analysis and support for any grant claims and complete grant submissions.
  • Weekly update and review of cash position and forecast.
  • Intercompany and group consolidation transactions and reconciliation.
  • Cross train in transactional areas to provide high-level cover in periods of absence.
  • Participate in systems development and process improvements as required, to ensure that planned outcomes are achieved.
  • Performing ad-hoc duties as directed by the Financial Controller and Financial Accounting Manager

The ideal candidate:
  • The ideal candidate will be ACA; ACCA; or CIMA-qualified or part-qualified.
  • Advanced Excel skills in order to manipulate data in spreadsheets, create lookups, pivot tables, advanced formulae etc.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail, productive either as a team worker or when working alone and possess the ability to work under pressure.
  • Experience of working within an accounting department within an established company using an ERP system.
