Antony James Recruitment Ltd are delighted to have partnered with a global client operating in the data analytics space in recruiting a Systems Accountant. Reporting to the Head of Systems Accounting you will oversee the optimisation and maintenance of the financial systems, focusing on Aptitude and Oracle. This will also include troubleshooting and implementing system changes.

Main Duties:
  • Perform root cause analysis and resolve issues with implemented financial systems.
  • Implementing changes to financial systems in a controlled manner with appropriate testing and review.
  • Ensuring that the impact of changes to financial systems on businesses process are understood.
  • Maintenance and updating of financial systems, specifically Aptitude.
  • Reviewing procedure and policies for financial systems.
  • Performing ad-hoc and periodic investigations as requested by Financial Controllers.
  • Support testing of any changes to financial systems.

Qualifications/Experience:
  • Experience using and maintaining financial systems, specifically general ledgers, accounting rules engines and sub-ledgers for technical accounting
  • Strong academic background including an internationally recognised professional accounting qualification (minimum 7 years post qualification experience).
  • Strong experience working within an insurance or reinsurance business
  • Advanced experience and knowledge of Oracle Financials, including troubleshooting, system configuration, and usage as a Systems Accountant.
  • Proven experience in managing and improving financial systems, ensuring their alignment with business needs

  • High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all financial system updates and reporting.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in other financial systems and tools, such as Excel, Aptitude, and data analytics software.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
