Duties & Responsibilities
formulate the Large Business & International Taxpayers' business model and its alignment with the overall company business model and strategy; contributing to strategy formulation and enabling the company mandate. This includes providing the overall leadership to translate companyVision and Strategic Intent into effective and efficient delivery of a Voluntary Compliance Programme within the defined segment that covers large and international businesses to ensure the collection of all tax revenues due, and appropriate enforcement when non-compliance is detected. Fundamental to the role is the ability to collaborate with clients to achieve voluntary compliance through superior and differentiated service.

A relevant Master's or Honours degree is preferable with 8-12 years' experience in financial services or professional or legal firm with experience in the financial services, of which at least 5 years at Senior Management level

Process
- Champion policy frameworks and objectives with internal partners to ensure integration between functions in pursuit of strategic goals.
- Use insights & knowledge gained from high level reports to conduct abstract, conceptual & comparative analysis to define functional strategy.
- Develop enterprise vision and strategy in line with Legislation, Government Policy, Mandate and Operating Model.
- Communicate a meaningful strategic context that articulates organisational purpose in relation to the organisational vision, purpose and philosophy.
- Evaluate and assess the impact of decisions on the long-term strategic objectives and integrity of the organisation.
- Take accountability for the development of an organisational strategy that clearly aligns to the mandate, vision and mission of the organisation.
- Create the context to continuously improve all functions and systems in line with national, regional and international changes.
- Develop annual & longer-term enterprise plans, set clear priorities and measurable milestones for programs in line with the organisational strategic plan.
- Balance and integrate organisational resources, resolve competing requirements and allow for contingencies in support of strategic objectives.
- Influence national and regional industry trends and policies in alignment with long-term strategic objectives.
- Proactively identify mission critical problems, determine critical and long-term intent of the organisation and develop organisational strategies to direct the future.
- Translate and implement the annual Compliance Program into an annual Operational Plan for the defined segment.
- Tax base broadening to ensure all eligible taxpayers within the Large Business & International taxpayer Segment are registered.
- Accountable for effectively implementing the revenue management programme to ensure taxes are collected when due, specifically:
- Account for all taxes due from Intermediaries: Employers, Traders, including Provisional taxes, within the defined segment.
- Collection of additional taxes raised through compliance activities.
- Specific Revenue Programmes.
- Dispute Resolution and Debt Settlement within agreed parameters.
Governance
- Influence the creation of organisation wide reports that meet all statutory requirements.
- Strategically influence the development, adoption, implementation and adherence to governance, risk and compliance frameworks.
- Upholds practices of good governance within agreed legislation, policies and delegated authority.
- Ensures acceptable management of operational and strategic risks.
- Complies with all Occupational Health and Safety Risks required.
People
- Influence the development of clear human capability and accountability frameworks within functional area in support of people management strategies.
- Provide leadership and direction by articulating and reinforcing the vision or direction for the function.
- Performance Management of staff for effective Employee Engagement & Performance Excellence.
- Engagement with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective management of interdependencies.
Finance
- Ensure that the segment is adequately budgeted for through the development and implementation of a requisite budget.
- Strategically influence the implementation of effective financial control, management of costs and corporate governance in the org.
- Provide input into SARS Resource Plan & Enterprise Strategy.
- Complies with all requirements of PFMA and relevant Treasury and SARS policies and regulations.
- Accountable for the prudent management of all financial and material resources within Large Business & International Segment.
- Prepares Large Business & International Segment Resource Plan.
Client
- Ensure strategic positioning of the segment to stakeholders from various local, regional, national public and private sector organisations.
- Strategically define and influence relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Engagement with relevant stakeholders, intermediaries and representative bodies.
- Taxpayer Relationship Management within the Large Business & International Taxpayer Segment.
- Engagement with and delivery of all taxpayer services within the Large Business & International
