Job Details:
Job Summary: This position is responsible for partnering with the senior management in Cubic, to be the key finance interface between the finance team and the business. This role also has responsibility for supporting the overall financial management of the business including reporting of actions monitoring and updating of project budgets, forecasts, annual budgeting/planning and other financial related matters. The position is also responsible for ensuring that the financial position of all projects as stated in the company's financial systems are realistic and accurate. This position works under limited supervision and incumbents will regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Business partner with Program Director, PMs, Engineering managers to achieve the financial outcomes of the business
• Provide a finance interface between Cubic and its customers regarding financial matters
• Ensure delivery and presentation of timely, accurate and compliant project financial and regional results and status monthly
• Prepare monthly reporting including commentary on significant financial changes and highlight foreseen risks and opportunities to the senior leadership team in the APAC region, and investigate and follow up on any variances arising
• Publish EV metrics and understand of Earned value management
• Responsible for the forecasting and budgeting/planning for the business
• Key attendee of monthly project/business review meetings
• Liaise with the project/production managers to ensure that all project costs are controlled in a timely manner
• Ensure that there is integrity in information of project status, contract values and estimates to completion as represented by project/contract managers. Understand contracts intimately & partnership with Contracts
• Keep the business and company management informed with respect of billings, retentions, debtors and cash flow relating to individual projects at a summary level for senior management consumption
• To assist in the preparation and reviewing of bid summaries for accuracy and compliance with company rates and mark ups
• Ensure that all project accounting processes comply with the Corporate Sarbanes-Oxley procedures and that related Sarbanes-Oxley controls are performed in a timely manner
• Work within the policies processes and guidelines of Cubic Corporation
• Establish first class systems and metrics to monitor performance of the business against budget
• Advise on techniques for analysing the financial position of projects, identifying problem areas, establishing current position and forecasting trends
• Expenses/costs reviews, influence, pushback or changes with PMs
• Assist in improving department procedures where possible and train finance team.
• Provide support to the Senior Management as and when required
• Understand contracts intimately & partnership with Contracts

Minimum Job Requirements:
Qualifications
Essential:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a tertiary institution
• Qualified CA / CPA or equivalent with 5+ years post qualified experience
Skills/Experience/Knowledge
Essential:
• 8 years Project accounting or management accounting experience
• Excellent computer and advanced Excel skills
• Knowledge and understanding of a project-based environment within which businesses need to operate, both locally and globally.
• Ability to understand the detail and identify areas for business improvement
• Ability to actively be an influencer and integral member of the Finance Team
• Able to cope with change and conflicting demands
• A proactive decision maker, able to work unsupervised
• Exceptional analytical and interpretative skills
• Ability to produce quality written and verbal commentary for project reporting and decision-making
