The Company

Mills Recruitment have been engaged by a leading, boutique practice with national affiliation to hire a high calibre tax accountant to join their team. The firm is based in West Perth with 5 Directors and succession plans in place requiring additional resources within the team at an Intermediate/Senior level.

The Opportunity

Due to this continued growth in their Taxation and Business Advisory areas, they are seeking a self-motivated and enthusiastic Tax Accountant, with 2 to 5 years' experience. The successful individual will join this leading team, with access to excellent development, professional training and client base, as well as an engaged leadership team.

The Position

You will be involved in providing professional accounting, advisory, management and taxation services to a diverse range of clients.

The successful candidate will be prepared to learn new skills and develop their consulting expertise. The role will suit an Accountant with a desire for research and problem solving and a good understanding of taxation issues.

Responsibilities
  • Preparation of financial statements, tax returns and activity statements for companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals
  • Responsibility for maintaining client relationships
  • Assisting Director and Senior Manager with tax planning, research, and advice
  • Attendance of training sessions, including participation, ideas, and knowledge to enhance other team members
  • Strong research and technical skills in relation to taxation issues

About You
  • Degree qualified with a Bachelor of Commerce / Bachelor of Business or other similar qualification.
  • Have attained or are nearing completion of a CA or CPA qualification.
  • Have a minimum of 2-3 years' experience in a similar role, able to prepare complex individual, company, trust and partnership tax returns.
  • Competent in using Excel and other Microsoft Office products, MYOB and Xero products.
  • Possess a high level of intrigue and a motivation to understand complex tax issues.
  • Excellent communication skills.
