Oakleaf Partnership are working with an elite global design business who are looking for an Payroll Specialist - UK & EMEA to join their HR team. You will be responsible for overseeing payroll operations across the UK, France, Germany, Spain & the Nordics. This is a complex and fast-paced role requiring a experienced professional who thrives in a challenging environment and is comfortable managing multiple payrolls. The role is based in Leeds and is hybrid with 3 days a week on-site.

What is the role?

As the Payroll Specialist for UK & EMEA, you will support the business' transition from ADP to CloudPay. You will inherit a situation that needs immediate attention, requiring someone who can roll up their sleeves, simplify processes and get things running smoothly. You will be working closely with teams in the UK and across EMEA, handling payroll across all three business areas. You will:
  • Manage end-to-end payroll operations for UK & EMEA (France, Spain, Germany, Nordics, UK), ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely payments.
  • Maintain payroll records including salaries, bonuses, deductions, taxes and other relevant data
  • Identify opportunities to streamline existing payroll processes to improve efficiency and manage day-to-day operations effectively
  • Streamline payroll systems while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and payroll laws across the EMEA region
  • Prepare statutory payroll reports and assist in internal and external audits.
  • Play a key role in both business-as-usual (BAU) and payroll transformation projects such as system implementation including data migration, system testing and validation, and providing training and support to HR and finance teams on systems.

Candidate profile/experience

The successful candidate will have/be minimum 5 years' experience managing payroll across the UK and Europe with a deep understanding of payroll complexities and data issues within an SME environment. You will have hands-on experience with transitioning payroll systems, with strong project management and process improvement skills to simplify and streamline operations. You will have excellent communication skills and excellent attention to detail. Ideally you will have experience of ADP or CloudPay.
