A well-established manufacturer located in the Johannesburg East is urgently seeking a Cost Accountant to determine the overall manufacturing cost of the company's products.Duties & ResponsibilitiesSenior Cost and Management Accountant
The Cost Accountant is a critical role responsible for the ongoing analysis of product cost, development of new product cost and margin analysis. This role will also work closely with the sales and design teams and senior finance team to establish customer pricing. Responsible to assess fixed and variable costs to determine the company's total cost of manufacturing a product.
Overview of the job:
Managing functions

• Manage gross margin analyses related to the company's products, inventory, and its overall value. Calculate the costs of goods sold on the company's financial reports, which affects the company's bottom line.
• Manage the cost accounting system and cost ledger.
• Manage the standard and actual costs for variances and report variances to management for decision-making purposes.
• Manage and update standard costs in the formulations of bill of materials ensure costing is accurate and up to date
• Manage and validate the month end closure procedure for COS of manufactured units
• Manage the development of the Acumatica system to enhance reporting and data analysis

Analysing and reporting functions

• Analyzing manufacturing operations, equipment availability and utilization
• Analyzing inventory valuations
• Analyze costing information and collaborate with sales and finance teams to establish customer pricing
• Ongoing analysis of product cost, development of new product cost and margin analysis.
• Anlyzing labour recover rates in manufacturing of goods sold
• Analysing overhead costs

• Analysing Stock for ageing, stock turnover and accuracy of stock counts
• Generate analyse and track all product costing estimates for both new and existing product formulations
• Producing Capex justifications, ROI analysis and assisting with funding applications

Support function

• Supporting Sales management with analysis of pricing and profitability by customer, product, and other sectors
• Support for Operations management in analysis of Standard Costing, Actual Costing, Variance Analysis and Stock Control
• Supporting and assisting in the production of financial forecasts and budgets
• Work closely with the sales teams and senior financial management team to establish customer pricing.
• Support the procurement manager in cycle counts and wall-to-wall physical inventory counts, investigating variances that arise.
• Support the procurement manager in establishing the value of inventory as it changes with market fluctuations, according to Accounting Tools.
• Support the Group Financial Manager in the development and enhancement of the Management reporting

Development of Acumatica system
Work closely with the Brilliant Link consultants to enhance reporting functions and data information extraction from the system in relation to:

• Financial results
• Management report Pack
• Procurement reports
• Quoting module enhancement
• MRP module enhancement
• Costing reports - GP's per product line
• Sales reports
• Month end sales accruals and WIP reports
• Assist in the implementation of the systems
