The Opportunity:
To carry out operations, services and administration of the business so as to achieve optimum profitability and efficiency to minimize operational risk. Although an operational job title, responsibilities include a strong client support role and related direct client contact.
The job holder has primary responsibility to providing operational support to assigned broker dealer clients and assisting the manager and the rest of the team with ensuring delivery service in line with broker dealer SLAs.
The role is required to maintain HSBC internal control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.

What you’ll do:
- Responsible for executing static setups and account opening, closing, and maintenance operations.
- Active and timely interaction with regional sites, banking operations, client services etc.
- Active participation and contribution in projects, automation and efficiency initiatives.
- Impact on business:
- To input and process account opening and maintenance for accounts, in regions supported.
- Act as subject matter expert on network markets and account opening requirements.
- Ensure static data setups are properly done on securities services platforms.
- Handle ad hoc project/reports
- To liaise with other departments within Account & SSI
- Builds trusting relationships with internal and external clients
- To work closely with Account & SSI teams, and other stakeholders
- To work closely with other departments within Account & SSI for collection of data/information.
- To assist in the monitoring of KPIs
- Identifies opportunities to reduce errors/increase automation
- Operates within the HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
- Understands, follows and demonstrates compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy.
- The jobholder processes sensitive information and should be well aware of the importance of confidentiality.
What you will need to succeed in the role:
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to handle high volume, high value transactions accurately and under pressure.
- Sound knowledge of relevant systems used and processes.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time well with good attention to detail.
- Team-focused with ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with managers and staff within the business.
- Willing to be assigned on UK shift (3PM MST/12.30PM IST) with occasional change on shifting depending on resource and capacity allocation requirements.
- Knowledge on basic MS Excel functions and basic macro.
- A good understanding of the overall securities industry from an operational and regulatory perspective.
- Knowledge of SWIFT, preferred but not essential.
- Knowledge on MS Visual Basic is an advantage.
