We are currently seeking a Trust Account Assistant to join our Team in our Hamilton office. Reporting directly to the Trust Account Manager, you'll be part of a supportive team dedicated to your growth and development.
Are you bright, detail-oriented, and eager to learn? Do you have a solid understanding of accounts functions and terminology, and a desire to grow your expertise in trust accounting? If you bring a “can-do” attitude and high attention to detail, we want to hear from you! Prior experience working with a trust account is a definite advantage.

Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the trust accounts are accurate, balanced, and compliant every day. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assist with all trust account transactions so that the trust account is accurate and balanced each day. This will involve a wide range of property settlements in the appropriate time frames
- Assist with receipting and client payments daily
- Manage IBD payments and withdrawals
- Manage dormant balances and other assist with other areas of the Trust account compliance
- Assist with preparation of RWT certificates and interest calculations
- Assist with billingprocesses, this will include assisting the Legal Assistants with complex billing
- Assist with adhoc maintenance of our systems
- Assist with weekly and monthly report
- Any other tasks that can be reasonably expected in this position
- Assist with daily importing and allocation of Landonline Fees
- To be able to work collaboratively in the finance team on a range of tasks as required
What We're Looking For:
The successful candidate will have:
- Solid New Zealand-based accounts experience
- Prior experience in trust accounting is an advantage
- The ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently, especially in relation to property settlements
- Strong attention to detail with excellent data entry skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Experience with accounting software (Actionstep experience would be an advantage)
- A proactive approach to learning and growing within the role
