About the Company:
A dynamic and forward-thinking accountancy practice in Manchester is looking for an experienced Client Manager to join their growing team. The firm offers a broad range of services to its clients, and this role will involve managing a portfolio of clients across various sectors, ensuring excellent service and strong relationships.
The Role:
As a Client Manager, you will be responsible for managing client relationships, overseeing the preparation of accounts, tax compliance, and advising clients on financial matters. You will also manage a team of junior staff and contribute to the growth of the firm.
Key
Responsibilities:
Managing a diverse portfolio of clients, including limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships.
Providing clients with tailored advice on financial matters, tax planning, and business strategy.
Reviewing accounts, VAT returns, and tax computations prepared by junior staff.
Liaising with clients to understand their needs and provide solutions that meet their financial goals.
Supervising and mentoring junior staff, ensuring high standards of work and professional development.
Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations, meeting deadlines for submissions.
Developing and maintaining strong client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact for client queries and issues.
Assisting with business development, identifying opportunities for additional services and advising potential new clients.
Keeping up to date with changes in tax regulations and accounting standards to ensure compliance and best practices.
Supporting the directors with ad-hoc projects and strategic initiatives for the firm.
Requirements:
ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with at least 5 years of experience in an accountancy practice.
Proven experience managing a portfolio of clients and providing high-level advisory services.
Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and tax regulations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-focused approach.
Experience in managing and mentoring junior staff.
Proficient in accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, and Excel.
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
A proactive problem solver with keen attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
Experience in business development or contributing to firm growth is desirable.
