We are looking for a motivated and reliable Tax Manager to join our client's firm in Northbrook, IL. The Tax Manager should demonstrate sound judgment and analyze problems logically and comprehensively, distinguishing between relevant and irrelevant information. Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
Job Responsibilities include:
Review and prepare federal and multi-state tax returns on a timely and efficient basis; to include business, partnerships, individuals, not-for-profit and trust returns
Review and prepare annual tax provisions and tax planning calculations for estimate and extension purposes
Research complex tax matters in order to summarize results and propose resolutions
Monitor and communicate legislative and regulatory tax law developments
Supervise and train members of the tax team
Develop and sustain strong client relationships
Respond to client inquires and taxing authorities
Perform other accounting and tax duties as assigned
Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in accounting or a related major is required
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
At least six years of prior experience in public accounting
Strong knowledge of tax laws
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex information
Knowledge of the following software programs is preferred
QuickBooks Desktop and Online
Microsoft Office, in particular Excel and Word
CCH ProSystem FX or Axcess Tax
Caseware
Ability to handle sensitive/confidential matters in a tactful and discreet manner
Strong inter-personal skills, including the capability to effectively present information and respond to clients' needs.
