The Cost Accountant is primarily responsible for standard costing, budgeting, cost variance analysis, and improving business processes. Ideal candidates should have 3-5 years of experience in cost accounting, controls, and transfer pricing, along with the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:Responsible for accurate reporting of financial transactions
Monthly balance sheet, P&L reviews, analysis and reporting
Lead the product cost process, request new product estimates and cost analysis
Asset investment analysis
Project costing, costing analytics, identify transfer pricing
Work closely with finance for trends, budgeting and forecasting
Analyze account trends and review accounts for errors, completing adjustments when needed
Assist in ERP implementation, testing and process improvement
Complete monthly, quarterly, annual and ad hoc management reporting
Perform other duties as required
Skills/Qualifications:
BS in accounting/finance
5+ years of manufacturing experience with cost accounting focus.
Thorough understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles
Auditing skills, ability to reconcile difficult accounts
Must demonstrate ability to identify and implement process improvements, be a self-starter, and effectively interact and communicate across multiple functions within the organization.
Must have strong communication (oral and written) and relationship building skills.
Must be proficient in the use of Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office products.
