Main purpose of position
Currently we are looking for a Trust Accountant in Cape Town to be part of our global team working together towards our vision - Improving our future. As our Accountant you will execute the accounting, administration and reporting process for Scatec SA trusts and Holding companies. The trusts are involved with social economic development activities with specific focus on Community and district trusts, Land rehabilitation trusts, BEE trusts and Holding companies. Manage the accounting, audit, and tax of the group's semi dormant bidding entities. To maintain and improve standard accounting processes and internal reporting.

Manage the accounting, audit, and tax of the group's semi dormant bidding entities. To maintain and improve standard accounting processes and internal reporting.
Main responsibilities
- Financial Accounting: Processing cashbooks and preparing bank reconciliations for entities
- Prepare bank reconciliations for several group companies
- Prepare monthly supplier reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare monthly journal entries
- Report to stakeholders and process dividends
- Prepare audit files for entities
- Project entities for REIPPP bid: Review financial statements, prepare audit files and manage tax compliance
- Payments: Coordinate weekly payment runs (domestic and international)
- Reviewing of invoices for compliance, e.g., VAT, company details, purchase order
- Prepare weekly payment batches for entities and resolve supplier and invoice queries
- Load payments to banking system and store proof of payments and share with relevant parties
- Bank administration: Maintain users and bank profiles, update signatories, Quarterly reporting for internal audit, and KYC administration for Banking and other institutional requirements
Qualifications and competencies
- Diploma/Degree in Finance or Accounting
- Completed Articles Advantageous
- CaseWare and Bank Administration experience
- Solid Microsoft Excel experience
- Understanding of finance function and sub-processes
- More than 3 years bookkeeping / accounting experience
- Preparation of basic trial balance is a must
- Being flexible and experienced with ERP systems would be advantageous
- Fluent in English, spoken and written
- Bank Administration Maintain users and bank profiles
- Update signatories and Quarterly reporting for internal audit
- KYC administration for Banking and other institutional requirements

- Complete STATSA reports
- To support with compliance - changing directors, CIPC updates, Annual Returns, etc.
- General support to the Finance team and assisting with ad-hoc queries
