About the Company:
A dynamic and well-established accountancy practice in Blackburn is looking for an experienced Accounts Senior to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant to take on a key role, working with a wide range of clients and contributing to the success of the firm.
The Role:
As an Accounts Senior, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients and overseeing the preparation of year-end accounts, financial statements, and tax returns. You will provide high-quality advisory services to clients, ensuring compliance and offering guidance on various financial matters.
Key
Responsibilities:
Managing a portfolio of clients, including limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships.
Preparing year-end accounts and financial statements in compliance with UK GAAP.
Reviewing accounts prepared by junior staff, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
Preparing corporate tax returns and computations, assisting with tax planning where needed.
Overseeing the preparation and submission of VAT returns, bookkeeping, and management accounts.
Providing advisory services to clients on a range of accounting and tax matters.
Liaising with clients to resolve queries and maintain strong working relationships.
Assisting in the development and training of junior team members.
Managing deadlines and workloads to ensure timely and accurate delivery of client services.
Working with accounting software such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, and Excel to maintain accurate records.
Requirements:
ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with at least 3-5 years of experience in an accountancy practice.
Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, accounting standards, and tax compliance.
Proven experience in managing client relationships and delivering high-quality service.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial matters to clients in a clear and concise way.
Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple clients and deadlines.
Experience with accounting software such as Sage, Xero, and QuickBooks, as well as proficiency in Excel.
A proactive and detail-oriented approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
