Financial Accountant (Contract)

Job Purpose:
As a Financial Accountant, you will support the Senior Financial Accountant and Financial Controller in preparing statutory accounts, UK monthly management accounts, and reporting for foreign subsidiaries into the group consolidation system. You will ensure inter-company transactions balance and collaborate with global partners and various departments internally.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing UK GAAP Statutory Financial Statements for trading and dormant entities. Knowledge of converting management accounts from US GAAP to FRS 102 is beneficial.
  • Support process development and compliance to align with SOX and CMC principles.
  • Assist with month-end management reporting, including UK company accounting and reporting for overseas entities (e.g., UAE, Poland, India), ensuring intercompany balances, accruals, and foreign exchange recharges.
  • Perform monthly intercompany reconciliations.
  • Compile audit packs for consolidated financial statements, analyzing capitalized software, intangibles, and leases.
  • Assist with the monthly payroll process.
  • Aid in the collation of the annual budget, focusing on operating expenses, depreciation, and capital spend.
  • Provide administrative support for expenditure control, monitoring legal, pensions, and professional fees against budget.
  • Assist with UK tax computation analysis, year-end Sage rollover, and review small foreign entities' statutory accounts.
  • Provide VAT cover for UK and UAE, ensuring controls over restricted VAT and duties.
  • Handle other day-to-day analysis and ad-hoc tasks as directed by the Director of Finance.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Professional accounting qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ACA or equivalent).
  • Experience in a similar role with international accounting and reporting exposure, including foreign currency transactions.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP) and reporting packages (BPC).
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and experience in a manufacturing environment is advantageous.
  • A second European language is beneficial.
  • Self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills for working across all levels.
