About the Company:

A leading accountancy practice based in Manchester is looking for an experienced Accounts Senior to join their growing team. This role is perfect for someone who has experience working in a practice environment and is looking to take on more responsibility while managing a portfolio of clients across various sectors.

The Role:

As an Accounts Senior, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation of accounts for a wide range of clients. You will supervise junior staff and play a key role in delivering high-quality service to clients, ensuring compliance with regulations and deadlines.

Key

Responsibilities:


Managing a portfolio of clients, including limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships.

Preparing year-end accounts and financial statements in compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS.

Reviewing accounts prepared by junior staff and providing feedback and guidance.

Preparing and reviewing VAT returns, bookkeeping, and management accounts.

Preparing corporate tax computations and assisting with tax planning.

Maintaining and developing strong client relationships, acting as the first point of contact for client queries.

Supporting clients with software queries and advising on accounting software such as Xero, Sage, and QuickBooks.

Ensuring that work is completed within deadlines and that all filing requirements are met.

Assisting with training and development of junior team members.

Keeping up to date with changes in accounting standards and tax regulations.

Requirements:

ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with at least 3-5 years of experience in an accountancy practice.

Strong experience in preparing and reviewing accounts for a variety of clients.

In-depth knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and tax regulations.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build strong client relationships.

Proficient in accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, and Excel.

Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines.

A proactive and detail-oriented approach to work, with the ability to solve problems effectively.

Experience in supervising and mentoring junior staff is desirable.
