Are you our new Thematic Assurance Specialist?
As a Thematic Assurance Specialist at Intrum, you will play a pivotal role within our Risk & Compliance Department, reporting directly to the UK Head of Assurance. In this dynamic position, you will support the implementation of the UK compliance framework, both internally and externally across our Partner Network, ensuring we meet all regulations and legislation relating to consumer credit, debt collection, and fair treatment of customers. You'll also ensure that key initiatives, such as the Lending Standards Board (LSB), are fully integrated into our operations.
You will lead the delivery of the UK Thematic Review Compliance Monitoring Plan (CMP) and conduct external Partner assurance reviews, focusing on high-risk or underperforming Partners. Thematic reviews are essential in identifying and addressing customer and regulatory risks across various business functions, ensuring we assess and mitigate the impact of any unfair outcomes.
This position offers the opportunity to make a real impact by helping us maintain our high standards of compliance, monitoring, and reporting to senior management.
What you will do:
Deliver the UK CMP Thematic Review workstream, ensuring it remains fit for purpose and meets industry standards and industry/regulatory best practices.
Conduct comprehensive internal and external reviews, delivering high-quality feedback and reports, particularly for high-risk servicing partners.
Perform Due Diligence evaluations for new external servicing partners and third-party suppliers to assess compliance and risk management.
Maintain the CMP calendar, ensuring all documentation-including trackers and audit folders-is up to date and organised.
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure actionable insights are addressed and key risks are reported to the Head of Assurance.
Enhance knowledge of regulatory compliance, including FCA, ICO, CCA, OFCOM, and LSB, to support adherence to requirements and improve customer outcomes.
Devoted to the FCA principle of Consumer Duty, by ensuring we are driving good customer outcomes across all aspects that have potential to impact our customers.
What we're looking for:
Solid experience in a similar role with strong knowledge of assurance monitoring activities.
Demonstrated understanding of compliance best practices and ensuring good customer outcomes.
Proven ability to build relationships with internal departments and clients.
Proficient in word processing and spreadsheets at an intermediate level.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Customer-focused with a methodical approach and excellent attention to detail.
Exceptional planning, time management, and problem-solving skills.
