You should ideally;
- Possess academic professional qualification in Accounting - Accounting Degree from a recognised university or part qualification in ICASL, CIMA, ACCA or similar
- Possess Masters of Business Administration will be an added advantage
- Possess a minimum of 10 - 12 years of experience in banking including six years post qualifying experience in a tax firm/ a tax division of a bank and experience in handling the payment function
- Possess excellent knowledge of Taxation and ability to interpret tax laws
- Possess good knowledge of Accounting, Banking and other regulations and ability to interpret these regulations accurately
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of all control aspects relating to expense control and accounting
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
- Possess capability of handling ERP Systems & handling in computerized accounting environment would be a distinct advantage
- Possess good analytical and problem solving skills
You will be responsible for;
- Ensuring compliance requirements of the regulatory authorities
- Ensuring effective settlement of tax disputes with department of inland revenue & refund finalization
- Preparing & reviewing of all the tax computations and compilation of tax returns in - house by ensuring effective tax planning in accordance with changes of the new tax legislations
- Assisting in preparation of financial reports of the bank
- Preparing notes to the DFCC Bank's annual report and reviewing the applicable accounting policies
- Reviewing the accurate and complete financial statements of DFCC Consulting (Pvt) Ltd and DFCC Pension Fund
- Supervision of the central payment function of the bank implementing necessary controls and automation where ever possible
- Timely reviewing of the revenue & capital expenditure DA and propose changes to the board of required
- Ensuring all the regulatory requirements are met when processing the payments
- Overseeing the preparation of reconciliations for suspense accounts relating to payment function
- Supervising the FA register by enhancing the quality of the output & coordinate the physical verification of assets
- Involving certain functions of A&R including variance analysis
- Coaching and developing less experience staff
