Our esteemed client, who is a globally renowned clearing and forwarding agent, seeks a Customs Product Manager to join their Cape Town branch based in Belville. Are you a Customs-guru who is looking for a new challenge? This unique role seeks an individual with sound customs knowledge and experience who can grow the customs product.

Duties:
  • Staff management.
  • Ensure all classification instructions for all shipments for all customers.
  • Monitor duty deferment usage and levels.
  • Monitor license/visa applications.
  • Ensure all new business is transitioned correctly.
  • Make 20 calls per month - Retention/Sales.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with the Trade Compliance Manager and support all compliance efforts and trainings.
  • Promote productivity tools (e.g., using edoc, process management, customsware usage/Expo customs.
  • Audit of files in accordance to AEO.
  • Follow up refunds with customs authorities.
  • Management of customs system.
  • Send client report requests through the available database (expo request, expo reporting).
  • Provide content for customer reviews - duty/VAT,
  • Be open to implementing new system changes and enhancements into your department.
  • Review and conduct staff appraisals and one to one meeting timely in line with the 3+1 Initiative.
  • Assist supervisor and key staff with goal setting and monitoring development.
Requirements:
  • Matric.
  • 3-5 years of Customs Broker's specific knowledge.
  • Global logistics industry knowledge.
  • Proven problem-solving, interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
