About the role...

As a Assistant Finance Business Partner your role is to support the Senior Finance Business Partner in driving sustainable and profitable performance of the relevant business sector/ contract. Strive for constant improvement to raise standards in key decisions areas, taking a forward-looking and commercial view to influence decisions. Work within the account to improve both short- and long-term forecasting for Profit and Loss accounts and cash.

This is a full-time permanent role and will be based at our office in Chorley or Birmingham along with working from home on a hybrid basis.

What will your day look like...

• Assist senior FBP with planning processes for the contract, including the setting of annual targets, subsequent budget and 5-year strategic plans

• Help to identify areas of improvement in the contract through championing cost reduction and efficiencies

• Facilitate weekly meetings to review the cash position of accounts and be the link in with senior management to update this on this position, ensuring accurate forecasts are submitted and adhered to

• Help to drive actionable plans to deliver against targets, support on monthly improvement plans

• Champion the efficiency agenda, being relentless in driving opportunities to drive greater efficiency into all aspects of the business

• Support the central finance team on month end, ensuring clear and efficient processes are followed by peers and accounts are delivered in a timely manner

• Work with the commercial function to ensure good management of WIP on the account and that payment terms are adhered to

• Ensure that there is transparency and good communication around the financial situation of the contract

About you...

Are you a results-driven finance professional with extensive experience in commercial finance and business partnering within complex, matrixed PLC organizations? Do you have a proven track record in the outsourced service industry, adept at managing long-term contract accounting, WIP, and applying IFRS 15 standards?

You will need to have a strong knowledge of accounting practices, statutory regulations, and reporting requirements, including expertise in forecasting and budgeting. Also being committed to developing teams and individuals, with a focus on fostering growth and enhancing performance among direct and indirect reports.
