Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Credit Risk Manager to join their dynamic team. The Credit Risk Manager will be responsible for assessing and mitigating credit risks associated with our group company's lending activities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of financial analysis, risk management principles, and regulatory compliance. The Credit Risk Manager will play a crucial role in maintaining a healthy credit portfolio while ensuring the companys financial stability and growth. You will optimize company sales and reduce bad debt by maintaining a strict credit policy. You will do this by assessing potential customers; creditworthiness and conducting periodic reviews of their existing customers by using mechanisms available such as credit insurance, surety's, cession, letters of credit, bank guarantees etc.

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate the creditworthiness of new and existing customers.
  • Analyze financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant data to make informed credit decisions.
  • Develop and implement effective credit policies and procedures.
  • Establish collateral requirements and manage high-risk accounts.
  • Oversee the collections process to ensure timely payment.
  • Develop and implement collection strategies; collaborate with collection agencies if needed.
  • Communicate credit terms and policies to customers.
  • Address inquiries and resolve issues related to credit terms and payments.
  • Maintain accurate records of credit transactions.
  • Provide regular reports on accounts receivable status and credit risk to senior management.
  • Work closely with the sales, finance, and legal teams to coordinate credit-related activities.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address customer credit concerns.
  • Regularly review and enhance credit management processes.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices and regulatory changes.
  • Train and mentor credit department staff.
  • Keep the team updated on industry trends, credit analysis techniques, and technology advancements.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international regulations related to credit and collections.

Key Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of legal and regulatory credit management laws.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Credit Act.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in financial analysis and credit risk assessment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 10 -15 years of proven experience in Credit Management and CGIC insurance experience.
