Your new role
As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our finance team and ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Financial Reporting: Assisting with the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Accounts Management: Managing accounts payable and receivable, including processing invoices, payments, and receipts, and maintaining accurate records.
- Bank Reconciliations: Conducting regular bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and discrepancies are promptly addressed.
- Month-End and Year-End Close: Supporting the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Compliance and Policies: Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and company policies, and assisting with internal and external audits.
- Collaboration: Working closely with other departments to provide financial insights and support, and contributing to cross-functional projects and initiatives.
- Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Educational Background: A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, and proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero).
- Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Communication Skills: Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues at all levels.
- Adaptability: Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment.
