We have a brand-new Finance structure with an emphasis on partnering with the business whilst making the best use of technology to enable us to focus on relationships and supporting the Council to deliver for our residents. Role Overview
With your experience in financial business partnering and project accounting, you’ll be part of our customer-focused strategic business partner function. Working in close collaboration with team members and staff across the Council, you’ll ensure that services are delivered through an advisory-led, business partnering model that enables us to achieve our goals within the agreed policies and governance. From supporting all aspects of the annual budget setting process and monitoring process for both capital and revenue, this role would suit someone who’s newly qualified and wants to take that next step, helping to shape business partnering across our future-focussed organisation.

Key Responsibilities
- Delivery of an effective Business Partner finance function that supports an efficient and effective budget setting and reporting process.
- Manage and co-ordinate the completing of financial returns (e.g. RA, grants) while maintaining an awareness of the impact of data produced. Monitor their progress where appropriate.
- Support the development of the annual Capital and Revenue Medium Term Financial Plan and the key processes that feed into its production.
- Supporting the financial management and development of good governance with regard of the Council’s multiyear programme.
- Being aware of new and pending legislation and policy changes and supporting in the preparation of timely briefings to the S151 Officer.
- Develop and manage the S106 monitoring and reporting in conjunction with service experts.
- First or Second-Class Degree
- Relevant professional qualification
- Membership of an industry body, preferably Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA)
- Membership of other relevant professional bodies
