Due to an increase in demand, our Inverness office is recruiting for an experienced Senior Tax Manager with a focus on the provision of tax advice to work directly with the existing Senior Managers and Partners.
Our Private Client team looks after a growing portfolio of individuals, trusts, partnerships, LLPs across a range of sectors, particularly landed estates and rural businesses. Our clients include complex family groupings which often involve corporate entities and some knowledge of corporate tax matters would be advantageous in providing a holistic advisory approach.
As a training office, there is also an expectation that the candidate would support the development of more junior staff in on the job training.
There are opportunities to get involved in firm wide advisory, committees and presentations if the individual wishes to do so.
The Team
The Inverness Private Client team currently comprises 11 individuals ranging from senior managers to trainees.
The Office
The Inverness office has around seventy five employees. The team cover all the major accounting and tax disciplines including accounts, audit and tax for companies, individuals, partnerships and trusts in the Highlands and across the UK. The office has a mix of local and remote workers, and is a welcoming and inclusive place to work. You
Key characteristics and skills required:
- A positive and enthusiastic attitude
- A high level of motivation, ability and commitment
- Will have previous relevant experience of management as they will be managing their own portfolio whilst also being responsible for reviewing the work of more junior tax staff
- Will be experienced in the provision of tailored advice, to encompass detailed family taxation reviews, succession planning, inheritance and capital gains tax planning, international tax aspects, and trust planning.

- Will have tax compliance experience
- Will be from a professional services background
- Will be a confident communicator to colleagues, partners and clients
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills are essential to ensure all deadlines are met
- Comfortable working on their own initiative as well as being a good team player
- High attention to detail and the ability to work in a timely manner
- Excellent IT skills

- A 35 hour working week with a hybrid working policy with the flexibility to work from home for up to three days per week (our core hours are 10-4)
