Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Tax Accountant. Extensive experience with tax regulations/laws local and internationally is key.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file tax returns: Ensure accurate and timely filing of federal, state, local, and international tax returns.
- Tax planning and advisory: Provide strategic tax planning advice to minimize tax liabilities and maximize tax benefits for both domestic and international operations.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations, including international tax treaties and agreements.
- Financial reporting: Prepare tax provisions and maintain tax-related financial records, including those for international transactions.
- Audit support: Assist with tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities in multiple jurisdictions.
- Research: Stay updated on changes in local and international tax laws and regulations and apply this knowledge to the company's operations.
- Cross-border transactions: Advise on tax implications of cross-border transactions, including VAT, customs duties, and transfer pricing.
- Client interaction: Communicate with internal stakeholders and external clients to gather necessary information and provide updates on tax matters.
Experience/Skills:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in tax accounting, with a focus on both local and international tax.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, local, and international tax laws.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with VAT, customs duties, and transfer pricing is a plus.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
