Summary
Solidarity Center seeks an accounting professional to assist the Accounts Payable Specialist with processing disbursements, including accounts payable vouchers, cash receipts, wire transfers, Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions, and credit card payments. This individual is responsible for supporting and streamlining the accounts payable process to ensure successful processing of all disbursements. The Accounts Payable Assistant also researches and resolves issues with vendors and/or payees.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in 1) Accounting or 2) Business (with twelve credit hours in accounting courses)
- Working knowledge of accounting theory and government grant regulations, including Uniform Guidance 2 CFR 200, U.S. GAAP, ADS, and other funder-specific requirements
- Three years of accounting experience (prior experience with non-profit organizations is desired)
- Intermediate skill in Excel
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word
- Working knowledge of Deltek Costpoint accounting software
- Ability to work independently to complete assigned tasks
- Close attention to detail in order to produce accurate work
Supervisor: Controller
Specific Duties:
- Monitor and maintain the Accounts Payable email address and DocuVantage system to ensure that payments submitted before the weekly deadline are included for the Account Payable Specialist to review and process;
- Ensure that payment requests are complete, including certifying that all relevant backup documentation is attached and that general ledger codes have been provided;
- Take responsibility for all communication between the requestor and Accounts Payable Specialist pertaining to missing or incorrect payment request information;
- Provide wire transfer or ACH confirmation upon request;
- Create new vendors and update vendors in Deltek Costpoint and DocuVantage;
- Create and update USD and FX wire models using applicable banking software;
- Enter accounts payable, general journal, and cash receipts entries into Deltek Costpoint;
- Assist in calculating drawdowns required to cover weekly disbursements (ACH and wire transfers);
- Assist in preparing monthly settlements, including Indirect Cost analysis.
- Assist in preparing annual 1099's for all vendors/consultants as required;
- Research vendor payments/accounts as required;
- Maintain Accounts Payable filing system and extract documents when needed.

This is a collective bargaining unit position, generously compensated with a gross annual salary starting at approximately $66,000 USD based on experience.
