Optimum Recruitment Group are proud to be working exclusively with this exciting growth client based on the outskirts of Leeds, who are looking to appoint to a newly created role of Commercial Accountant.
Reporting to the Head of FP&A, you will be responsible for developing the standard costings and costing models across the Group, monitoring actual performance against standards, producing accurate pricing models to assist in commercial pricing and work with Commercial teams throughout the tendering process. There is also an opportunity to work with systems teams (Finance and CRM) to develop the reporting system to enable automated standardised reporting on job/customer profitability.
Your responsibilities will definitely include:
* Creating/refreshing standard costings and cost models.
* Monitoring job/site performance against standard costs.
* Assisting with commercial tenders ensuring appropriate charge rates are being applied.
* Developing and improving job and customer profitability across the group.
* Supporting the Finance Business Partners, Head of FP&A and Group FC as necessary.
Do you have the following qualifications, skills and experience?
* An accounting qualification would be preferred but it is not essential.
* Experience of standard costing / cost modelling and general financial modelling.
* Commercial pricing experience would be desirable but not essential.
* Building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
* Consistently work to deadlines in a disciplined manner to produce high quality outputs.
* The ability to solve problems, reach logical conclusions and make recommendations.
* Strong Microsoft Excel capabilities.
* Experience of Sun Systems, Proactis, NAV desirable.
