I’m working with a highly regarded hotel in Reading that has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Financial Controller to join their finance team. This modern, upscale property offers fantastic amenities and a vibrant work environment, making it the perfect place for someone looking to take the next step in their finance career within the hospitality industry. you must have previous hospitality / hotel experience to be considered for this role.
Key
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the daily running of the finance team, providing financial support to senior managers and department heads
• Ensure financial controls are adhered to in line with corporate standards
• Supervise key areas such as cost control, income audit, accounts payable/receivable, and more
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure accurate general ledger postings
• Prepare monthly financial statements, reports, and analysis
• Use financial data trends and market insights to recommend actions that maximize returns
• Support external and statutory audits as needed
What We’re Looking For:
Degree in Business/Finance or equivalent work experience
Experience in hotel accounting
Experience with financial software such as Opera/Micros, Dynamic, or similar
Strong knowledge of finance, budgeting, and accounting processes
Excellent leadership skills and ability to manage a finance team
