Introduction:

Hawkwood are partnering with an innovative and fast growth FinTech based in Cheltenham, in their search for a Senior People Partner.

Our client has developed an innovative product, and as a result, has surpassed some ambitious milestones, ahead of being well on their way to becoming a £100m business by 2028. Their clients include some of the UK's most successful scale-ups & many of their businesses are backed by the UK's top Venture Capital firms.

As one of the more progressive employers in the area, they have crafted a brilliant, supportive culture, and have also received B-Corp accreditation.

About the role:

Over the past year, the business have partnered with an external People & Culture consultancy to establish frameworks that have transformed the company from a hands-on startup into a thriving, high-growth business.

Now, as they prepare for their next phase of expansion-aiming to reach 70+ team members by the end of 2025-our client are looking for a Senior People Partner to ensure they are equipped for this growth. You’ll play a crucial role in shaping their culture, refining their processes, and building the skills needed to achieve outstanding results.

Responsibilities include:

  • Elevate Performance: Designing and implementing strategies that foster high performance while bravely tackling tough conversations.
  • Shape Recruitment: Lead the recruitment strategy and onboarding process-develop the employer brand, forge key agency partnerships, and ensure there is a solid growth plan in place
  • Strategise Growth: Oversee annual headcount planning and budgeting, collaborating with Heads of Teams to align growth plans with the company strategy.
  • Enhance Core Processes: Manage essential people processes from onboarding to benefits administration, ensuring a seamless and positive experience for all team members.
  • Drive Development: Build and execute training and development programs that empower the team with the skills and knowledge to excel.
  • Optimise Reward: Lead on the reward strategy, including salary reviews and benefits management, to ensure the business offer a competitive and attractive rewards package.
  • Leverage Data: Own all people data and insights-transform key data into actionable business recommendations.
  • Manage Systems: Oversee the HRIS system and payroll changes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.


About you:

  • You will have a recent background in a People and Culture role working within a high growth, people-first environment, ideally a start up or scale-up.
  • You'll need hands on knowledge of all aspects of the people experience - from onboarding to performance to career progression
  • You'll have experience working autonomously, ideally having worked in a stand-alone role before
  • You will live within an hours distance of Cheltenham and therefore be able to travel into the office easily, three times per week or will be looking to relocate to this area
