Job Summary

As a Tax Director, you will play a pivotal role in managing and expanding our tax department. You will oversee all aspects of tax compliance, planning, and advisory services while working closely with partners and clients to ensure tax strategies align with client goals. This position requires strong leadership skills, a high level of technical proficiency, and the ability to mentor and develop staff. You will also play a key role in business development and ensuring exceptional service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the tax compliance process for individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns.
  • Oversee and review complex tax returns prepared by staff and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Provide high-level tax advisory services to clients, including strategic tax planning and consulting for businesses and high-net-worth individuals.
  • Stay updated on changes to tax laws and communicate their impact to clients and the firm. Identify opportunities for tax savings and present recommendations to clients.
  • Collaborate with partners on business development initiatives to attract new clients and expand services to existing clients.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop tax staff, ensuring proper training and professional growth. Develop and maintain client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor.
  • Coordinate and manage IRS and state tax audits, handling negotiations and dispute resolution as needed. Assist clients with tax notices and correspondence with tax authorities.
  • Ensure quality control in all tax deliverables and maintain firm-wide compliance with established policies.
  • Lead tax planning and projections, particularly for multi-entity and complex business structures.
  • Manage the implementation of tax software solutions to improve efficiency and accuracy in the tax process.
