A Leading National Clothing Retailer with a large footfrint across South Africa is recruiting a dynamic and experienced Financial Accountant to be based at our Head Office in Pinetown.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Preparing the month-end accounts up to Management Accounts for the Group.
- Investigating unexpected variances in the profit & loss account
- Reviewing monthly reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts
- Overall reconciliation of the accounts to ensure that all costs and revenues have been accounted for
- Maintaining effective financial controls and reporting structures
- Overseeing and managing the daily functioning of the finance team
- Helping the Financial Executive with ad hoc assignments
- Managing team performance
- Produce and distribute monthly management reports.
- Produce detailed monthly cash flow forecasts
- Produce financial reports detailing actual expenditure against forecast.
- Produce required financial reports for members of the team and Board of Directors
- Produce annual financial reports and statements to comply with the requirements of FF
- Develop annual budgets in collaboration with the Finance Head and functional heads.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements relating to financial control, financial management and accounting.
- Ensure appropriate external audit arrangements are in place and manage the audit process and ensure deadlines are met.
- Ensure that all balance sheet reconciliations are produced on an accurate and timely basis to include bank reconciliations, debtors, creditors and inter-company accounts
- Ensure implementation and adherence to finance policies, procedures and systems across all teams
- Ensure all statutory returns Vat/PAYE/Income tax/provisional tax returns for the group are submitted timeously.
- 2-3 year experience in commerce would be highly advantageous
- Relevant qualification
