Section Two: - Job Purpose
Plant Accounting Head will be responsible for the complete accounting function of a plant including general and sales accounting, payables/receivables, and financial compliance.
He will be responsible for the day-to-day aspects of the business's accounting and reporting functions and he reports directly to Head of Account based at Corporate office.
Incumbent will oversee & ensures the plant's accounting processes and systems comply with company policies, applicable regulations, and provide required information.
Being a Plant Accounting Head he is responsible for the preparation of financial, production output, and other reports used to measure and control plant activities and costs.
Role Type: Supervisory
Staff No. of subordinates (Team Size) : 8-10
Section Four: Key Accountabilities
Identify the most significant responsibilities of the job which have a clear result for the achievement of which the role holder will be held accountable.
1. Manage all accounting operations of the plant by supervising & collaborating with the unit accounts managers of the respective plant.
2. Lead the budgeting & forecasting exercise and review plant expenses, accurate inventory costing, review of manufacturing order reports for costing and investigate variances.
3. Planning, studying, and collecting data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labour.
4. Analysing changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods or services provided, to determine effects on cost
5. Manage month-end closing and prepare monthly financial statements and other operational reports for the plant.
6. Analyse variances and communicates explanations to management with recommended actions
7. Analysing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
8. Prepare forecasts of income statement, balance sheets, and statement of cash flows for the Plant
9. Must work across organization boundaries and all levels of the company to achieve plant, and corporate objectives
10. Integrates and trains new staff while leading the continued professional development of the existing team
11. Provides proactive / unsolicited consultation, interpretation and education of complex financial and operational matters to various departmental leaders used to drive business decisions.
12. Collaborates with plant head and senior management to explain results, make improvements, manage projects, identify inefficiencies, understand operations, and lead the development of complex analysis
13. Monitor and implement plant internal controls (in conjunction with corporate policies) as necessary to ensure reporting integrity, safeguard company assets, and identify risks
14. Serves as the primary liaison between plant operations and Corporate Finance

Educational qualifications : Chartered Accountant
Relevant experience: Candidate with 10 + Years' work experience into plant accounts operations.
Necessary Functional Skills required for this job
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a senior financial leadership position.
- Overall 15+ years of relevant experience
- Ability to work and communicate with all levels of the organization is critical
- Plant Accounting experience big plus, strong accounting skills
- Ability to lead a team and work well with cross functional teams
- Strong proficiency in SAP or other software required.
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting models
