YOUR ROLE

In this role you will be responsible for maintaining the general ledger, analysis of expense and balance sheet accounts, recommending accruals and adjustments as needed, and producing financial reports.

The main responsibilities will involve, but not be limited to:
  • Transactional processing for accounts receivable and accounts payable, credit control.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly SLOB inventory provision and doubtful debts provision reports and working capital reports (cash + cash forecasting).
  • Calculate and process prepayments, accruals, and other month end accounting journals as required.
  • Preparation of the monthly management accounts including the P/L, B/S with analysis and variance commentary on results to send to Bunzl APAC.
  • Preparation of annual budget, and monthly forecasts.
  • Support the business in the implementation and monitoring of critical financial reporting and related controls.
  • Complete and lodge indirect tax returns (GST and Fringe Benefits).
  • Assist in the preparation of the NZ Group statutory accounts.
  • Support the annual external audit process by providing accurate workpapers, supporting documentation and responding to audit queries in a timely manner.

ABOUT YOU

You'll be an all-rounder accountant; analytical and self-motivated with broad knowledge from transactional to accounting/financial reporting. Reliable and enthusiastic, your excellent people skills enable you to achieve outcomes within timeframes and expectations.

The other essentials we are looking for:
  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting or related discipline.
  • A CPA/CA qualification (or in the process of gaining).
  • Proven work experience (minimum 3 years) in an Accounting role.
  • Technical accounting skills
  • Numerical and analytical ability
  • Great time management skills with the ability to prioritise and resolve competing demands to meet deadlines.
  • The ability to take and show initiative, jump on challenges.
  • Able to work both in a team environment and autonomously.
