Stock Finance Accountant

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our Stock Finance team based out of our Leicestershire head office.
As a Stock Finance Accountant you will report directly to the Stock Finance Manager, working alongside three other senior analysts and one assistant accountant. You will be responsible for all the freight costings; from costing in estimate freight costs, as well as following actual freight costs from our 5 freight forwarders.
You will analyse and reconcile our freight costs for all products coming into the business and to 3rd parties.
You will also be responsible for billing for 3rd parties freight as well as being responsible for costing our latest estimate in the product contract system and in our
financial system.
The role will also require you to work with our imports team on freight costings queries as well maintaining our slippage forecast on a monthly basis. Reporting and analysing on all slippage lines and working through variance vs Forecast and vs last year. Also you will post and analyse all slippage cost accounts by income stream; UK, Branded & International.
Your remit will also include the need to pull together the slippage cost budget together by account as well as pulling together the season’s slippage costs and analysis product group profitability to feed back to the product teams.
Background
The ideal candidate will have a stock background or experience of working in retail finance and ideally qualified in ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
You will possess strong analytical skills including using Excel and other systems to examine data.
SQL knowledge is preferred but not essential.
You will be a strong communicator with a willingness to engage with stakeholders around the business, and enjoy the challenge of investigating and resolving discrepancies
