The Role:

The Investment and Research manager manages and promotes the investment solutions within the M&G Wealth Advice channels. In our restricted channel you will monitor report and promote the M&G group investments used by 200+ advisers across the UK. In our independent channels you will manage, maintain and promote a Central Investment Proposition that encompasses 7 asset managers. You will lead the Investment Governance Committee - producing data and reports to support the decision making.

It is essential for you to have achieved the Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning, ideally with Investment Specific qualification to support (AF4, J10, J12, IMC, CFA)

Key Responsibilities for this role:
  • Be the primary point of contact within the advice function when it comes to investment selection and broader product knowledge and preferences.
  • Create communications and knowledge materials that support our investment approach and mirror our capabilities in the investment arena.
  • Align with the advice strategy to encourage advisers and clients to adopt investments that deliver positive outcomes for them over time.
  • Perform a lead role in the Investment Governance Committee and lead the proposals for inclusion or expulsion of investments from the CIPs of our distinct advice channels
  • Present knowledgeably and confidently to internal and external audiences on our investment beliefs and the role of investments in the advice setting.
  • Meet with and manage our ongoing relationships with investment managers and other providers according to our contractual and SLA policies.
  • Working with the Managing Directors of our advice businesses, and other key stakeholders to deliver our long term strategy for advice within M&G.

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • A minimum of 2 years advice industry experience
  • Diploma in regulated financial planning, ideally with Investment Specific qualification to support (AF4, J10, J12, IMC, CFA)
  • Experience of running, managing and promoting central investment propositions
  • Strong experience working in the Financial Services industry
  • Comfortable and confident to assist in delivering training, both 121 and to a larger group to experienced advice professionals.
  • Confidence and experience of working with a wide range of advisers.
  • Ability to multi-task on a day-to-day basis.
  • Excellent analytical and data presentation skills
  • Experience with FE Analytics
  • Excellent communication skills on an individual and group level.
  • A self-starter capable of working effectively alone and using initiative to question and test new ideas.
