The Role



We are now recruiting for a determined and ambitious Business Services Manager, to join our Leeds office and become one of the latest and essential additions to our wider Business Services Service Line.



The successful candidate will be expected to take responsibility for a portfolio of Business Services clients which includes a mixture of basic / large / complex assignments and ensuring our clients receive an excellent service whilst controlling the Firm's ongoing service cycle for those clients.

The main elements of this role will include:
  • Having a portfolio of basic / large / complex Business Services clients
  • Being responsible for the completion and submission of financial statements, business taxation and personal taxation for all clients within their portfolio
  • Briefing Business Services Assistants / Seniors appropriately at the start of an assignment to ensure the job plans and budgets are clearly understood, managing the team during the assignment and being involved in the completion process
  • Attending and contributing to client meetings when required by the Business Services Partner
  • Overseeing and providing technical support to Business Services Assistants / Seniors
  • Raising fees in connection with the portfolio for approval by the Business Services Partner and providing explanations and action plans to prevent any overruns in future
  • Managing the workflow and staff development linked to this portfolio
  • Developing the Business Services portfolio and expanding this area of our business

The Candidate



In order to fulfil the responsibilities of the position, we would like candidates to be / have:
  • Either ICAS / ACCA / ACA qualified and have experience of working within a professional Accounting environment
  • Able to effectively manage and support colleagues under their line management and ensure they are developed to their best ability (experience conducting appraisals / reviews for direct reports would be advantageous)
  • A determined and motivated individual striving to provide an exemplary client service to all prospective and existing clients
  • Able to demonstrate a positive attitude when dealing with colleagues and clients, and use initiative to solve any problems / queries
  • Organised and experienced with planning of workload, prioritising deadlines and delegating work accordingly to other members of your team
  • Self confident, approachable and capable of building long term relationships with clients
  • Aware of the applicable Accounting standards
