Mar Hall Hotel, Golf & Spa Resort, a gem nestled in the heart of Scotland, has recently been acquired by Dutco, a prestigious Dubai-based company, with ambitious plans for luxury and innovation. Our extensive refurbishment programme includes expanding and upgrading the property to see it repositioned as one of the best hotels in Scotland and an international destination. Plans include new luxury woodland lodges, revitalised golf, spa & leisure facilities, and a refurbishment of our guestrooms and public spaces.
As we embark on this thrilling new chapter, we are searching for a skilled and dedicated Financial Controller to join our team and be a part of this exciting new world.

Key responsibilities of the Financial Controller will include:
- To Analyse revenue and costs to identify inefficiencies, and action.
- Prepare the quarterly VAT returns and Monthly PAYE returns in line with legislation
- Ensure the Group Purchasing Policy is effectively used throughout the hotel, to maximise our purchasing power and control expenditure.
- Review, reconcile and forecast capital expenditure
- National Statistics reporting
- Cash flow management
- Liaise with banks and BACs re cash movements and account management
- Develop element 4 reporting to increase accountability amongst resort managers and control costs to budgeted targets or less.
- Work with the HR department ensuring the usage of the Fourth system to maximise benefits and achieve ratios
- Control Debters Ledger
- Production of monthly departmental and hotel profit and loss accounts
- Assistance with the budget and business planning process
- Production of internal management reports to the asset management company.
- Ad hoc reporting as required
- Plan and deliver departmental meetings and communications
- Complete appraisals/job chats with team members to identify development/training needs. Training plan devised and co-ordinated.
- Oversee the IT function.
- Review all contacts and agree terms with suppliers.
- Event Billing days target of 5 days to be achieved
- Comply with Company Finance policies and procedures
- Compliance with all areas of responsibility with regards to legal, statutory, health and safety and security.
- Carry out other duties that may be necessary from time to time.
The Ideal Financial Controller:
- Resort style hotel experience preferred
- Experience of existing hotel financial controller position.
- AAT/CIMA is preferred but not essential.
- Profit focused and numerate
- results orientated
- IT literate.
