The Role:
Reporting to the Regional Audit & Survey Manager, the role sits within the second line of defence with responsibility to undertake new business Surveys of prospective clients and make recommendations as to their suitability for a Sales Finance facility. Where required, the role will also include undertaking audits of the existing Client portfolio to ensure that funding remains secure, facilities are correctly administered, pertinent issues are identified, and suitable recommendations are made for protecting our funding and security. A key element of the role is to present survey findings and analysis to colleagues across Sales and Risk teams, in addition to other stakeholders as required, clearly and concisely.
The
Responsibilities:
Analysis:
• To undertake a thorough review of all the relevant aspects of the prospective client’s business, producing timely, accurate and concise reports with reasoned findings & recommendations.
• To identify areas for improvement in the company's new business proposal and liaise with the Regional Sales Director to recommend a satisfactory, working alternative.
Reporting:
• To complete a minimum of 2 surveys per week.
• To complete and file clear, concise and analytical reports promptly subject to suitable travel time.
• To ensure that all potential issues including industry risks, economic trends, fraudulent activity and security issues are identified and reported at survey.
• To ensure that all concerns arising from the survey are escalated promptly and clearly to the appropriate teams. Teamwork Support the business and Bank functions in strategic and regulatory projects as appropriate through:
• Contributing to the enhancement & efficiency of the team’s processes and procedures.
• Supporting colleagues on larger complex audits & surveys where required.
• A culture of continuous improvement, including the sharing of knowledge and best practices with colleagues.
• Active participation at team meetings/project groups as appropriate.
General:
• To liaise with the Regional Sales Director to ensure prompt booking of survey appointments.
• Maintain good relationships with the Sales & Relationship Management teams and other key stakeholders.
• To Deputise for the Regional Audit & Survey Manager where required or appropriate. Risk & Compliance
• Ensure that all Governance and Compliance requirements are adhered to and that all reporting and reviewing activities required by the Regulatory Bodies are carried out to the standards required.
The Requirements:
Essential
• Career background in Invoice Finance, and specifically client audit and/or survey.
• Strong analytical, verbal and written skills
• An ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Full UK Driving License
Desirable
• Familiar with commonly used accounting software and IT packages
Desirable but not essential
• ABFA Diploma/Certificate
• AAT
• Chartered or Certified Accountant
• Educated to a Degree or Equivalent Level
