The Screening Services Team Leader is responsible for leading, developing, and executing the strategic business development activities, strategic relationships, and leading transformation in the team by providing guidance to the Operations team.
The Team Leader will provide support in the successful management of the Customer Screening teams that deliver on Group Compliance.
Are you someone who can:
- Work with the Projects and IT to proactively determine process and system gaps (due to system defects, inappropriate designs, etc.) and assess initiatives appropriately in terms of cost/benefit analysis to ensure alignment to business objectives.
- Drive a compliance risk management programme at a segment level across multiple business units.
- Build sound relationships based on trust and openness.
- Leverage processes, data, and technologies to meet business needs, understand business risk and constantly improve programme maturity.
- Produce consistently high-quality outputs within agreed deadlines.
- Manage a large team by executing management responsibilities and create an environment that encourages employee growth and performance excellence.
- Ensure that any financial or reputational risks related to Customer Screening and relevant legalisation are identified.
- Financial and reputational risks are minimized
- Participate in various risk committees and industry forums
- Provide expertise and advice to stakeholders on matters relating to the FIC Act, relevant legislation and industry best practice.
- Develop and maintain an appropriate record keeping systems of audit purposes
You will be an ideal candidate if you:
- Possess a relevant NQF5-7 qualification, such as banking, law, commerce, or risk.
- Have 8 to 10 years of banking experience, with four or more of those years ideally spent in management.
- Have a solid background in AML, products, and customers, along with good investigative abilities.
- Have a solid background in project management, strategic problem solving, and administration.
- Have strong people skills managing a large, diverse team.
