This is a fantastic role for an Oxford University spin-out in the medical manufacturing industry, which has grown significantly in the last few years and is on track to double in the next year. The business is now able to bring the manufacturing/assembly function in-house, which requires an Inventory Accounting Manager to help set up and take ownership of it.
Your new role
As the successful candidate, your duties will include:
- Managing inventory accounting and valuation processes
- Analysing and reporting on inventory management, identifying areas of improvements
- Providing information on inventory holdings and valuations across global warehouses
- Lead on the implementation of new processes and methodology for an in-house production line
- Reconciling inventory to the accounts, ensuring integrity of the data
- Business partnering with Production, Sales, Logistics, Merchandising, providing inventory reports and supporting valuations
- Designing, managing and implementing procedures and controls for inventory management and movement
- Managing aged, obsolete or faulty inventory, ensuring it's costed and accounted for
- Developing systems, ensuring accurate tracking, recording and valuing of inventory
- Clearing and auditing inventory on a quarterly basis
- Supporting month- and year-end financial reporting
- Providing analysis for statutory audits, as required
What you'll need to succeed
To be the successful candidate, you must have / be:
- Qualified ACA, CIMA, ACCA or QBE, or experience in an Inventory role
- Experience working with inventory, understanding valuations, transfers, stock etc.
- The ability to take ownership of a task and work independently
- The ability to identify areas of improvement and work in a fast-paced business
- Strong Excel skills and the ability to work with large data sets
- Excellent communication skills
- Enthusiastic and driven
