Morson is collaborating with a Bury-based business to recruit a Payroll Team Leader on a permanent basis. As a key member of the Payroll team, you will play a vital role in ensuring seamless payroll processing for our colleagues across the UK and the Republic of Ireland. Our goal is to deliver a first-class service that enables our colleagues to excel in their roles.

Morson is collaborating with a Bury-based business to recruit a Payroll Team Leader on a permanent basis. As a key member of the Payroll team, you will play a vital role in ensuring seamless payroll processing for our colleagues across the UK and the Republic of Ireland. Our goal is to deliver a first-class service that enables our colleagues to excel in their roles.
Your Responsibilities:
- Oversee the payroll process for 35,000 colleagues across 43 payrolls, including 5 Offshore payrolls with monthly pay cycles.
- Ensure the team meets critical deadlines and maintains high-quality standards.
- Promote best practices and keep our colleagues at the centre of everything we do.
- Provide training on payroll processing and legislative changes, monitor team performance, and support their professional development.
- Identify trends in payroll queries and collaborate with key stakeholders to resolve issues at their source.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for guidance and support within the team and across the business.
About You:
Essential Skills:
- Proven experience managing high-volume payrolls.
- Strong understanding of payroll, benefits, and relevant legislation, with knowledge of offshore regulations being advantageous.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills to ensure deadlines are met.
- A people-centric approach with a commitment to team success.
- A continuous improvement mindset and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively, both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills to simplify complex pay queries for colleagues and team members.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with SAP payroll software.
- CIPP or similar accreditation.
- Experience mentoring a large team.
